Pregnancy, childbirth and child education present (future) parents with many new challenges in the day-to-day running of their studies and in planning their personal lives. Similarly, the sudden responsibility of caring for a loved one can be very burdensome and lead to a change in study arrangements. For international students who do not have a network or other family members in Germany, such situations can be very difficult.

The staff at the Social Counseling Service offers information sessions on the subject of “study and children” at all locations every semester. In addition, in a personal meeting, it is possible to discuss your personal situation, to find further contact points in the city, at the university, at childcare facilities and at the health insurance companies’ care advice, so that you are not alone and can make the right decisions.
