The cultural space VOR DER GRIEB is located in the city center, very close to Haidplatz. In May 2022, the cultural promotion department of the Studierendenwerk Niederbayern/Oberpfalz opened this high-quality exhibition space, spanning almost 200 square meters, in a renovated historic vaulted cellar. Located on the ground floor of the "Vor der Grieb" student residence, it offers students the opportunity to exhibit their art and present themselves and their work to a wide audience in a prominent location. Non-students can rent the space through the Regensburg Cultural Office.
The concept: A space to support students art and art education
With our cultural spaces in the city center, we place a special emphasis on the visual arts, giving students the opportunity to explore this field and present their artwork appropriately – this service is free for students and student groups.
The cultural space VOR DER GRIEB offers students the chance to network with professionals in the cultural and creative industries, present their work to a specialist audience, and become part of Regensburg's cultural scene.
VOR DER GRIEB is a space particularly well-suited to a wide variety of artistic concepts. There are no limits to artistic freedom! Students from all disciplines who enjoy creating art, whether as a hobby or professionally, are warmly invited to exhibit their work there! An art-related degree is not a condition for using the space! The space can also be rented per day – for example, for smaller music events, readings, or poetry slams. Students and student groups can use the cultural space free of charge for their cultural projects.
The high-quality furnishings and technical equipment are also available for your cultural project at the VOR DER GRIEB cultural center.

Can I rent the space if I'm not a student? Absolutely!
Whether you're a hobby artist, a freelance artist, or a gallery – simply contact the cultural office directly. We'll be happy to provide you with information about the facilities, room availability, rental conditions, and answer any questions you may have. The space is also available for conferences. Institutional university departments can rent the space at discounted rates.
