The cultural promotion program of the Studierendenwerk Niederbayern/Oberpfalz offers students in Regensburg access to the university theater (Theater an der Uni) as a space for their creative potential. Over the past decades, a vibrant theater scene has developed on the Regensburg campus. From tragedies and comedies to drama, dance, music, and improvisational theater, everything is represented.

Your stage at the Campus Regensburg!
Are you interested in using the theatre for a performance or event, or would you like to join a theatre group? Are you passionate about lighting and sound technology? Or would you like to express yourself as a makeup artist?
Then join the STWNO Theatre Club, register directly with us or write to the theatre groups directly: You can find contact details for existing ensembles here.
What is the STWNO Theatre Club?
For anyone who loves theater or wants to perform on stage and is looking for a theater group, the Theater Club was founded in October 2025! A performance is planned for the summer semester of 2026 at the University Theater. The Theater Club is open to all students, regardless of their stage experience. Participation is free.
Under professional guidance, a group will be formed where all students have the opportunity to contribute their own ideas, texts, and scenes. Together, we develop a play in collage form – a mix of original texts, improvised scenes, and familiar motifs from literature and pop culture.
Rehearsals are currently underway, and no new participants can be accepted at this time.
You will find out whether the project will continue here on our website (autumn 2026).
Do you have an idea for a theatre performance or would you like to start a new group?
If you'd like to start your own project, get in touch with us directly. We'd be happy to advise you if you'd like to found a theater group and inform you about the conditions for using the university theater for your project. We can also tell you about support opportunities, such as the providing of rehearsal spaces, as well as all the theater's technical resources.
Realizing a theater project always requires a wide range of talents, and we're always happy to hear from anyone interested in working behind the scenes. So, if you're interested in event technology, just send us a message!
