People who study are called students.
A student also has to take care of many other things while studying.
For example:

People work at the Studierenden-Werk.
They help students with these tasks.
Students can simply get in touch if they have any questions.
By simply going there and talking to the workers.
Then they will get answers and help.
What does a Studierenden-Werk do?
The Studierenden-Werk has many tasks:
- It runs cafeterias and canteens.
Students get hungry and thirsty while studying.
A canteen is a place where students can eat hot food during the break. - It manages residential complexes.
A residential complex is a place where many students can live.
They don't have to pay as much rent there. - It helps students to finance their studies.
Students receive help and tips on where they can borrow money.
And also how they can fill out the necessary paperwork. - Counseling for social and psychological problems.
Sometimes students are in a bad way. Or they have worries and inner problems.
Then you need help. Someone you can talk to.
And who can show you a way out. - Help for foreign students.
Many students come from abroad. Some don't speak German well. But good English.
The Studierenden-Werk helps these students. There are also people working there who speak good English. Or can provide help in other languages.

The Studierenden-Werk Niederbayern/Oberpfalz provides support for many students in Regensburg, Passau, Landshut, Deggendorf, Pfarrkirchen, Straubing and Cham.
It is responsible for these universities:

- Universität Passau
- Hochschule Landshut
- Technische Hochschule Deggendorf with European Campus Rottal-Inn and Technologie Campus Cham
- Campus Straubing of the Technische Universität München
The Studierenden-Werk Niederbayern/Oberpfalz is a service company.
It has a social mission. It is a non-profit organization and is self-governing.
It is financed by its own income.
There are grants from the state of Bavaria and a semester contribution (Studierenden-Werk contribution).
The Studierenden-Werk Niederbayern/Oberpfalz is a member of the umbrella organization Deutsches Studierenden-Werk.
57 Studierenden-Werke organizations in Germany have joined together voluntarily.
The association represents the social interests of students.
