The Studentenwerk is building a new residential complex on Alois-Gäßl-Straße. The groundbreaking ceremony took place in Pfarrkirchen on March 6, 2020. A total of 60 living spaces are to be created here.
The residential complex will consist of twelve individual apartments and 48 living spaces in shared apartments with a shared kitchen, bathroom and toilet. The rooms in the shared apartments - three of which are barrier-free - are particularly important for international students in Pfarrkirchen. They are often at a disadvantage when looking for affordable housing because landlords prefer long-term tenancies. For this group of students, the need for affordable housing in Pfarrkirchen is particularly great.
The division of the living spaces into shared flats is intended to promote the community and the integration of the many foreign students at the European Campus. Various communal areas are also being planned: A laundry lounge with washing machines and dryers is being built on the ground floor. As a highlight, the residential complex on the top floor has a roof terrace with its own barbecue area. To promote the mobility of the students, car and 60 covered and lockable bicycle parking spaces are being built.
The entire residential complex is barrier-free and accessible. The building complies with KfW Standard 55 and is therefore particularly sustainable: the heat is generated using renewable raw materials.
Construction of the residential complex began in May 2020. A specific date for the first occupancy of the 60 residential spaces has not yet been set.
