The barn, which was built from 1485 to 1492, was originally used as a salt barn and was rebuilt as a residential and business building in 1902/03. Since 1992, the building hosts all in all 35 dwelling places for students. As forms of housing, three complete single flats inclusive kitchen and bathroom are available as well as 32 flats in form of shared living for two people, in which two occupants share one kitchen and bathroom at a time.

The common room in the bridge gate invites the occupants to get to know each other and get together in a pleasant ambience, and it offers a singular view on the Danube as well as on the Stone Bridge.

It is possible to do the laundry in a room with home-owned washing machines and dryers for collective use.

There are parking spaces for bicycles. There are no parking spaces for cars.
