In the residential complex at Vitusstrasse 2, the Studentenwerk is renovating and modernizing the existing ten-person shared flats with communal kitchens.

After completion, the total of 60 residential units will receive new furniture and communal kitchens based on the so-called French model. This means that the tenants keep their supplies, kitchen utensils and also their own refrigerator in the individual rooms and take the food, pots, pans, etc. into the communal kitchen for cooking. In addition, the communal kitchens will have two stoves and sinks as well as new tables and chairs. In addition to the kitchens, the shared bathrooms and toilets will also be equipped with new furniture and lights and all walls, ceilings and joints will be repainted.

Particularly interesting for student tenants: In addition to a fresh coat of paint, tenants’ rooms will also receive new furniture: with a built-in cupboard including storage space for kitchen utensils, a separate refrigerator, a washbasin with a base unit, a shelf and a mirror as well as replaced furniture (desk, bed with drawer, wardrobe) the modernized rooms will hardly be recognizable.
