If you decide or have decided to study at one of the colleges/universities of Regensburg, Passau, Deggendorf or Landshut and would like to apply for BAföG (educational funding), you can contact us, the Amt für Ausbildungsförderung (Office for Educational Funding) of the Studierendenwerk Niederbayern/Oberpfalz.
The Amt für Ausbildungsförderung is responsible for the following educational institutions:
- Universität Regensburg
- Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg (OTH Regensburg)
- Hochschule für katholische Kirchenmusik und Musikpädagogik Regensburg (HfKM)
- Ausbildungsinstitut für Verhaltenstherapie Regensburg (AVR)
- Universität Passau
- Technische Hochschule Deggendorf and its locations such as European Campus Rottal-Inn Pfarrkirchen
- Hochschule Landshut
- Technische Universität München (TUM) Campus Straubing
BAföG is a low-cost way to finance studies, because within the standard period of study, half of it is granted as a non-interest-bearing loan and half as a scholarship, i.e. one half is given as a gift!

Submit BAföG applications
You can submit applications online at www.bafoeg-digital.de.
If you do not wish to submit your application online, you can download the necessary application forms from the BAföG website of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and send them to us by mail.

Submitting documents
Please send documents by mail to the Amt für Ausbildungsförderung or upload them directly to your case via the upload portal at www.bafoeg-digital.de.

You can send important inquiries to us at the e-mail addresses below. Please always include your full name (first name, last name), the university you are studying at, and your scholarship number (if you already have one) with all inquiries.
Please avoid sending documents via e-mail. We are not guaranteed to receive all e-mails. E-mails with attachments larger than 5 MB cannot be delivered. Not all attachments can be opened. The risk of important documents not being received is too great via this method of communication. Please also consider data protection when communicating via e-mail.
Telephone information and advice
The team of the BAföG counseling office in Regensburg, the case workers at all locations (Regensburg, Passau, Deggendorf and Landshut) and the group leaders can be reached by telephone during the indicated office hours and will gladly answer your inquiries by telephone.
If the employees are at work, calls are also accepted outside office hours.
If you are unable to reach us by phone, please try again or at another time. You are also welcome to e-mail and request a call back.
Responsibility is based on universities/locations and the first letter of your last name.

You have the option of making an appointment for a personal consultation on site.
In order to avoid waiting times and thus larger gatherings of people in front of the offices, in the corridors and in the Studentenhaus, we offer you the option of making appointments via the calendar. This means that we ask you to reserve an appointment in your calendar and come to us for a personal consultation during this time.
