End of the Semester Ticket Landshut as of the Winter Semester 2026/2027
In April and May 2026, the Student Union Landshut surveyed students at Landshut University of Applied Sciences about the future of the semester ticket. In the vote, the majority of students opposed continuing the Semester Ticket Landshut starting with the winter semester 2026/2027.
A total of 1,763 votes were cast, representing nearly one-third of all students at Landshut University of Applied Sciences. 1,022 people, or 58%, voted against continuing the Semester Ticket Landshut starting in the winter semester 2026/2027.

What will change starting in the winter semester 2026/2027
Starting in the winter semester 2026/2027, there will no longer be a semester ticket for students at Landshut University of Applied Sciences. This means that upon enrollment or re-registration, no mandatory fee for student public transportation will be required. Students at Landshut University of Applied Sciences will therefore only pay the Student Services fee (basic fee), currently 82.00 euros per semester, upon enrollment or re-registration, but not the additional fee for the semester ticket.
Starting in the winter semester 2026/2027, students at Landshut University of Applied Sciences will be responsible for obtaining their own public transportation tickets if they wish to use public transportation. The student ID card will no longer be accepted as a semester ticket.
There will also no longer be a supplementary ticket for the Deutschlandticket for students. Starting in the winter semester 2026/2027, students at Landshut University of Applied Sciences will pay the full price of the Bavarian Discount Ticket if they wish to subscribe to a discounted Deutschlandticket on a voluntary basis.
Bavarian discount ticket for students
Students at Landshut University of Applied Sciences have the option of subscribing to the Deutschlandticket as a Bavarian discount ticket. Via the MVV online shop, students receive a fully-fledged digital Deutschlandticket on their smartphone, which entitles them to unlimited travel on public transport throughout Germany.
