The Cafeteria Nikolakloster at a glance

The cafeteria offers space for 150 guests. A classic cafeteria during the day, in the evening the Cafeteria Nikolakloster is transformed into a small cultural center: the KulturCafete. It can be used by students and cultural university groups as a venue with a stage to put creative ideas into practice. The spectrum is broad and colorful: music and cabaret events, theater performances, film and dance screenings, as well as readings and panel discussions.

Starting July 1, 2026, the STWNO will introduce different prices for students and staff/guests in its cafeterias. Price tags will show both price groups going forward. With a few exceptions, prices for students will remain unchanged, while prices for staff and guests will generally be about 0.10 euros higher, or by a rounded tax amount, respectively. Students can receive the discounted student rate by presenting their student ID or cafeteria card at the ticket counter.

Starting July 1, 2026, vending machines will also distinguish between student prices and staff/guest prices. However, the machine will display only the higher staff/guest price. Students automatically receive the lower price when they use their valid student ID or cafeteria card during the payment process. Please note: However, when paying with a debit or credit card, the staff/guest price displayed will always be charged.

This cafeteria is a so-called food serving cafeteria.

Each food serving cafeteria offers two hot meals every day. The meals are based on the canteen menu. The pricing is also the same as in the canteens, with discounted prices for students and staff.

The aim of the food serving in the cafeterias is to reduce waiting times in the canteens and at the same time offer an additional, sometimes closer alternative for lunch.

Location

The cafeteria is located at the Nikolakloster site on the east end of the university campus.

Special features

Fridays are fish days in our cafeterias in Passau! As long as stocks last, freshly filled Bismarck herring rolls, smoked salmon rolls and baked fish baguettes are available every Friday. Enjoy!
